I got up close and personal with this particular bird who, for whatever reason, seemed to find me fascinating. That’s okay. I was able to get this wonderful shot of the bird (Crow? Raven?), and it stood out against the spectacular scenery of Bryce Canyon, UT.
It was a fun weekend, and we had a great time in the bracing cold weather. This photo was taken with the Kodak, without a filter, and I didn’t do anything else with this other than to adjust the softness a bit and to crop to size. Once again, Nature rules.
This was a photo of one of the many majestic rock formations at Zion National Park in Utah. It was dramatic on its own, but I decided to “play” with it a bit. The sky that day was cloudy and whited out. I applied a filter which brought out the drama and added a few [...]
While the cabin is clearly visible to the right, the stands of Aspens and Pines shadowing the almost-pristine snow are the star of the photo. I say “almost pristine” because if you look carefully, you’ll see rabbit prints in the snow.
I love this photo, and surprisingly, did little to enhance it. Taken in 2006, it is one of about a dozen pictures I took while in Bryce Canyon that will take your breath away.
An “okay” picture that had a great layout. I played with it a bit and this is the result. Kind of nice, with an almost painted look. I like it!
I really enjoy this photo because the details of the terrain are so evident. Believe it or not, this was taken with a cheapie digital camera. It came down to composition and some digital darkroom magic.
