Well, 1200 fellow publishers and I didn’t quite make it – we got the full Simon Cowell treatment – but I wanted to show you the photo I used to promote Vegas Wineaux, which is, admittedly, a wine site rather than a food site.

A little creative application of lighting techniques and now we see how quaint and warm the tasting room is at Villicana.
I spotted Zach working in the kitchen and took the shot. The blur just adds to the atmosphere of the place.

This is a picture of a young elephant seal. He was one of a couple of dozen who were still on the beach long after the mating season in December. The Beachmasters (the name for the big, aggressive males) had long gone.

I snapped this with my Kodak – proving that often how “good” the camera is doesn’t matter if the photo is properly framed. Of course, it’s hard to get a bad picture at Bryce Canyon!
